About Eva

In 1958, I left Poland with my family and came to Australia.

I graduated from Melbourne University with a BA degree (Philosophy and Psychology) and a Secondary Teacher’s Certificate. Years later, I completed a Diploma of Arts (Professional Writing and Editing), taught at Swinburne Technical School for 10 years, travelled extensively and then settled to have a family.

I have obtained a number of photography and literary awards and have had work published in papers such as The Age, Sydney Morning Herald, Canberra Times, Courier Mail; in literary and photography magazines such Dissent, Quadrant, Westerly, Best Australian Poetry 2005, Overland, Verandah, Meanjin, Newcastle Poetry Prize Anthology, Oyster Fashion Magazine, Australian Photography Commercial Photography and the Melbourne trains.

My work has been shown in various galleries including the Monash Gallery of Art, Gallery 101, Edmund Pearce Gallery and the Melbourne Museum and is held in collections at the National Portrait Gallery of Australia (Canberra), City of Yarra and the City of Phillip Council Chambers.
